DESCRIPTION:Join us for a tour of United Therapeutics’ downtown Silver Spring campus\, the Unisphere – one of the world’s largest site net zero energy buildings – and get a rare glimpse into their lung assessment facility. The tour ends\, weather permitting\, with refreshments on the roof of the Unisphere. Don’t forget your walking shoes as we will be covering a lot of ground. ADA accessible. \nRegistration is a must as participation is limited. \nUnited Therapeutics Corporation (UT)\, a biotechnology company headquartered in Silver Spring\, was founded in 1996 by parents determined to save the life of their child and others who had been diagnosed with a rare\, deadly disease called pulmonary hypertension. In 2021\, UT became the first publicly traded biotechnology company to become a public benefit corporation (PBC)\, aligning its legal form with its founding inspiration. Its public benefit purpose addresses patient needs today and cures in the future: to provide a brighter future for patients through the development of novel pharmaceutical therapies and technologies that expand the availability of transplantable organs.
