Do you have sterling silver flatware, hollowware (bowls, candlesticks, trays, teapots, etc.), barware (jiggers, cocktail shakers, cocktail picks, bar spoons, corkscrews), or other sterling silver items that you no longer want or need? One of the largest and most reputable silver dealers in the mid-Atlantic region will be available to view and purchase your items at the Village Office.
Today’s decorating and entertaining tastes are very different from when you probably originally acquired your silver. If there is little market demand for your style of silver, Marc will pay you on the spot according to your item’s “melt value.” If there is a resell market for your items, he will offer you a very fair price, and you can decide for yourself if it’s acceptable.
There are a couple of important things to keep in mind. Your items can be in any condition—dented, scratched, missing parts, or lopsided. Silverplated items have very little value, either for melt or resale purposes, so you should just continue to enjoy them at home. If you’re unsure whether an item is sterling silver, feel free to bring it, but don’t be upset if you get bad news!
