The Afternoon Book Group will be held online monthly as a Zoom event. The May book will be Parable of the Talents by Octavia Butler. Shading from dystopian literature to the kind of richly imagined science fiction Butler was known for, these award-winning novels contain the insightful social commentary that was this esteemed author’s hallmark. “The Parable of the Talents” is the second of what was to be a trilogy.
