"In Conversation with John Kelly"
Former Washington Post columnist John Kelly will discuss the highlights of his 34-year career at the paper, from founding KidsPost to writing a daily Metro column.
John Kelly retired in January from a 34-year career at The Washington Post, most recently as a columnist in the Metro section. His "John Kelly's Washington" column --
a daily look at Washington's less-famous side --
ran for nearly 20 years. Before
that, John was a general assignment reporter in Metro, the founding editor of KidsPost and the editor of the Weekend section. John was born in Washington and grew up around the world as an Air Force brat. He graduated from the University of Maryland with an English degree and has done journalism fellowships at Harvard and Oxford. He lives in Silver Spring with his wife, Ruth, and their yellow Lab, Archie. John's hobbies include playing drums in the local power pop band The Airport 77s.
Wednesday April 10 at 2:00 in the Silver Spring Civic Building, Spring Room.
